Journey Underground – Day Trip to the Punkevní Caves & Macocha Abyss!

Join us for a unique day trip to the Punkevní Caves, one of the most fascinating natural wonders of the Moravian Karst — a land of hidden caverns, underground rivers, and dramatic limestone formations.

Located near Blansko, just north of Brno, the Punkevní Caves offer a truly unforgettable experience: we’ll explore vast underground chambers, marvel at stalactite and stalagmite formations, and even take a boat ride on the subterranean Punkva River through mysterious echoing corridors.

We will walk through mighty underground spaces and passages decorated with stalactites and stalagmites, as far as the bottom of the world-famous Macocha Abyss, the deepest sinkhole of its kind in Central Europe, plunging more than 138 meters from forested rim to mossy floor. The foot walk is followed by a motor boat ride along the underground river Punkva. The ride includes the visit of the Masaryk's Dome, one of the most beautiful caves of the Moravian Karst. The Punkva Caves are an extension of the longest cave system in the Czech Republic, the Amateur´s Cave, whose passages are over 35 km long.

After the cave tour, we’ll take a scenic walk or cable car ride up to the top of the abyss, where we can enjoy breathtaking views over the Moravian Karst landscape.
