What we’re about

If you are curious about sitting and walking meditation and wish to start a practice, join us on the first Saturday of the month for one-day meditation workshop is tailored for beginners, with plenty of breaks and opportunities for discussion. You will learn simple techniques that draw from different traditions to calm your mind and open your heart, guided by long-time meditator and semi-retired academic writer on Spirituality at work, Dr David Bubna-Litic with meditator and Gestalt therapist Daniel Espitia. We only ask for a donation to the cost of the hall and the soup and bread will be provided for lunch (please bring a bowl and spoon).

Meditation is a powerful tool that helps lower levels of the stress hormone cortisol, leading to a reduction in overall stress. It can enhance your attention span and the ability to concentrate.
Meditating can also help improve emotional health by promoting a positive outlook, reducing symptoms of depression, and increasing self-awareness. Many people report improved sleep quality and reduced insomnia as a result of reduced anxiety.

The workshop is not religious but allows you reflect on your own religious questions in a supportive and open way that promotes the experience of beauty and mystery that abides in ordinary, everyday life.
