Literary Reading Group: “The Fall of the House of Usher” by Edgar A. Poe
Details
We will discuss our reactions and interpretations of Poe’s classic 25-page short story, readable online here.
Poe is, among other things, often considered the inventor of the detective story and an original voice in the canon of American lit. This story (like many of his) is a romantic-era “gothic” work interested in madness, decay, and the supernatural. I look forward to hearing what you all think!
