Moraine Hills State Park 3 mile hike

Details
Hi everyone! I needed to take a little break due to a knee injury, but we are back!
Join the Prairie Club and Women outdoors for a hike on Sunday, August 10 at 11:00 am. The hiking venue is at beautiful, Moraine Valley / McHenry Dam State Park in McHenry, Illinois. Moraine Hills Park is known for its natural kames, bogs, marshes and Lake Defiance. The lake is one of the few glacial lakes in Illinois that has remained largely undeveloped, maintaining a near-natural condition.
The park is located at 1510 S. River Road in McHenry and is a 1 to 1 1/2 hour drive from center of DuPage county, Glen Ellyn/College of DuPage area. We will depart from the visitor’s center at 11:00 am and hike around 3.2 miles with an option to do more or less.
It’s been a very hot summer so make sure to wear a hat, sunscreen and bring water.
Afterward, we can consider having lunch at Uprooted, a cool vegan (and carnivore) inspired restaurant.
Let me know if you can make it!
