What we’re about

Climbing is a lot of fun. This group is for people interested in learning how to climb, and those who already do. Climbing can lead to a lot of unique adventures if you get into it. The wall at this fitness center is about forty feet tall. It has several routes varying in difficulty. I am belay certified, so I can put you up myself, or you can use the auto-belay. I realize joining a Meetup should not involve putting your life in a stranger’s hands, so the auto-belay is a great feature here.

If you're a member of Prairie Stone you can climb for free. If you're not, it's a $20 guest fee charge. A dedicated climbing gym is going to charge over $20 to enter and then charge a gear fee if you don’t have any. Prairie Stone is a flat $20, and the gear is provided free of charge (minus climbing shoes, you can climb in sneakers). All gear is inspected regularly. This is an affordable way to introduce yourself to climbing or just sharpen your ability. You could even use the pool or gym equipment with the guest pass. I am not a pro climber, far from it. I just enjoy climbing, and I used to do it a lot with other people. Climbing with people is a great way to push yourself, learn, and make new friends.

There is rarely anyone on this wall. I have never had to wait to use it. If you think this sounds like something you might enjoy, please join up. Cheers!
