Greetings, fellow preppers!

We are excited to announce an upcoming event for our preparedness group on September 30th: a Basic Bleeding Control class. This class aims to equip you with essential skills to handle emergency situations and potentially save lives. The training will focus on three critical techniques:

  1. Applying pressure to a wound using your hands effectively.
  2. Properly packing a wound to control bleeding.
  3. Correctly applying a tourniquet when necessary.

We are honored to have an exceptional guest trainer, Command Sergeant Major (Retired) Jerry Wilson, leading this session. CSM(R) Jerry Wilson brings a wealth of experience, having served meritoriously as a Special Forces Medic in the United States Army and Colorado National Guard for over 28 years.

Here's a brief overview of CSM (R) Jerry Wilson's remarkable career: CSM Wilson retired from the United States Army on August 21, 2022, after dedicating 28 years of his life to service. During his illustrious career, he spent 23 years in the Special Forces Regiment, serving in various capacities. He began his journey at the 7th Special Forces Group in Fort Bragg, N.C., where he worked as the Detachment Junior Special Forces Medical Sergeant on an Operational Detachment Alpha (ODA). Later, he became the Detachment Senior Special Forces Medical Sergeant and Dive Medical Technician on a Special Forces Underwater ODA, after attending the Combat Diver Qualification Course.

In 2005, CSM (R) Wilson relocated to Denver, Colorado, and joined the Colorado Army National Guard and the 19th Special Forces Group. Throughout his tenure, he held various positions within the group, ultimately serving as an ODA Team Sergeant, Company Sergeant Major, and Battalion Command Sergeant Major.

Currently residing in Commerce City, Colorado, CSM (R) Wilson is a dedicated father to four children and works as a Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps Instructor at Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Early College, part of the Denver Public Schools system. He finds great fulfillment in shaping and guiding the future patriots of our nation, a cause he has wholeheartedly embraced throughout his adult life.

Note that while this class may not be an "official" STOP THE BLEED course from the American College of Surgeons, you will not receive a certificate of completion. However, the knowledge and skills you will gain from this training are invaluable and could make a significant difference in an emergency.

Join us for this empowering session and let's further strengthen our preparedness for whatever challenges lie ahead.
