Field Trip-Sedona-West Fork Trail
Details
We haven’t gone on a field trip in a while so let’s go to Sedona! We will be hiking West Fork Trail 108 for a total of 8 miles. This is my favorite hike in all of Arizona because of it’s beauty (and my hubby proposed to me on this trail 🥰)
We will be hiking a single track, out and back trail, and will go across 13 creek crossing. You will get wet, especially if you want to venture further into the canyon, where we may be thigh deep in water. This area is the prettiest in my opinion. If you don’t want to get that deep in the water, you can rest, relax, and hang out at the 3.5 mile mark and wait for us to come back and we will hike back to the beginning all together. I suggest bringing an extra pair of shoes, socks, and pants to change into after the hike.
We will be hiking in a beautiful canyon, alongside the red rocks and the cliffs above. We willl climb up a rock staircase and walk over stepping stones. This trail is simply magical.
Let’s meet at 7:30 am at the Hozho Public parking lot at 481 AZ-179 in Sedona. From there we can carpool to the trailhead because it gets extremely busy on the weekends and the park opens at 8am. If you want to drive on your own to the trailhead, there is a fee to park.
Also bring extra money because on field trips we usually go eat at a restaurant and get a drink because we deserved it after a long hike 😄
Attached are photos of the hike.
