Hiking Spree Hike #1 Aspen Creek Trail #48

It’s that time of year again for beautiful fall hikes of the Highlands Center Hiking Spree 2026. Hike 8 out of 10 hikes by December 7th and enter to win a $300 gift card from the Hike Shak in Prescott. You must submit your hikes completed online or in person at the Highlands Center. You can also purchase a commemorative patch from the Benson Family Nature Store for $5.

The first hike will be along the Aspen Creek Trail which will be so beautiful right now with the changing leaves 🍁 of the trees. This hike will be 6 miles out and back. We will hike to the big juniper tree. As always if you do not want to hike the entire 6 miles, you may turn around at any point.

We will meet at the Aspen Creek Trailhead. Directions to the trailhead:
From downtown Prescott, drive South on Montezuma which will turn into White Spar Road. Turn Right at the traffic light onto Copper Basin Road and drive approximately 4.6 miles to the Aspen Creek Trailhead on the right side of the road. The paved road will turn into a dirt road once you enter the forest.
