The best hike in the Dells
Details
This 2-mile trail along the east side of Willow Lake has spectacular scenery, lush swales of yellow cottonwoods and other vegetation between the granite outcrops and, due to the November rains, there are now many small pools and streams. We'll also have good views looking down at Willow Lake and its wintering waterfowl.
This hike is for experienced hikers. There are few sections of flat trail. We'll be hiking across the granite outcrops along the white dot trail and going up and down into the valleys between the granite, including a 100-step staircase.
This will be a one-way hike, so we'll need to have a car at both ends: the boat dock at the main entrance and the parking area and the south parking area at Willow Creek Road and Britni St.
