Please remember to wear socks (no shoes are allowed in the dance studio!) and clothing that allows you to move freely. (Leave your stilettos and scuba suit at home.) A NOTE ON CLASS FEE: I charge a fee for this class because I must pay rent for the meeting space. If you RSVP and cannot attend the class for any reason, regretfully I am unable to refund you or transfer your RSVP to a future class. So please make every effort to attend the class(es) you pay for. * The per class RSVP fee is $15.00. However, if you would like to commit to the entire six week session, the session total is $65.00 (making it only $11 per class.) If you want to do this, visit the MEMBERS PAGE and click on the CHIP IN button. Enter in the amount as $65. Once I am notified you've paid, I will manually RSVP you to all six classes. I think you're going to love this...and I cannot WAIT to meet you! Text me if you have any questions whatsoever. Dewey ;)[masked]

What we're about

Depression and Anxiety is a formidable monster millions of us battle. We get out of bed each morning overwhelmed by the day ahead. Completing even the simplest task (getting dressed, brushing our teeth) seems insurmountable.

I understand the battle against D & A because I fight it every day. After years of cognitive therapy, attention to diet, regular exercise, quiet meditation, acupuncture and a lot of prescription medication, I can tell you this: The battle doesn’t stop.

But there’s good news. One of the mightiest weapons I’ve discovered in the battle against D & A is Improvisation. Since 1993, the tools of improv have provided me with an astounding release from the mental anguish that accompanies D & A.

I wish this release for you, too. I would like to share with you what I know.

* My class provides a safe place for you to play and experiment with something fun and new.

* My class is a supportive place for you to challenge your social anxiety by stepping out of your comfort zone.

* My class gives you a reason to leave your house once a week, even if only for a couple of hours. D & A wants you to isolate. Be alone. Stay inside your head and spiral until you are convinced that there is no hope.

I know what that darkness feels like.

Refuse to isolate.

Refuse to lose hope.

These classes are for me as much as they are for you. Sharing the joys of Improvisation is my way to rise above my D & A by helping others heal through play.

Consider joining me in the class. Allow me to provide you with a place to BELONG and FEEL and PLAY with other people who are just like you and me.

Dewey is a father, husband, artist, actor, improvisor, writer, stand-up comedian, and owner of an old, blind poodle named Sophie.

Dewey has performed on stage, television and in theme parks all over the world for twenty-seven years. Twenty-three of those years were spent as an improvisational actor with The Walt Disney Company.

In the mid-Nineties, Dewey appeared on Nickelodeon Television in The Mystery Files of Shelby Woo, and Legends of the Hidden Temple. He worked behind the scenes as the Warm-Up Guy, entertaining audiences during commercial breaks from shows like ALL THAT, Nickelodeon GUTS and Figure It Out! When Dewey wasn’t on the soundstage, he worked in the GAK Kitchen creating the GAK and Slime used on messy gameshows like Family Double Dare.

Dewey has traveled the world performing his improvisational characters. For two years he lived and worked in Japan performing improv for both the Walt Disney Company and Universal Studios Osaka.

Most recently, Dewey performed and taught improvisation in New York City. His successful workshops were a hit in the Manhattan corporate sector. Wall Street Warriors, IT Technicians and city government workers attended Dewey’s workshops week after week. Dewey has presented his improvisational skills at companies such as Price Waterhouse Cooper and Lockheed Martin, among many others.

Currently, Dewey lives in Atlanta and focuses much of his attention on helping others who struggle with Depression and Anxiety.
