An early morning walk 07.30 am start... we aim to finish 10.00 am but sometimes the walks over run... meet in front of the toilet block Hubberford Lane, Scorton. PR3 1AU... the Toilet block is close to the play ground/church

Apx 5.5 miles walking along country lanes, woods, and open land. This is an up hill walk from the start. Elevation of 656 feet to trig point.. there are a number of steps both up and down.. they are steep, uneven and some have shingle/stones so please tread carefully. We start in a clockwise direction taking the first lot of steps up to the trig point. Hopefully if weather clear we will see over to the south lakes and morecambe bay.. From here we descend more steps towards Grizdale reservoir, left turn at this point and walk back to the fell at back of Nicky nook and ascend back up the steep, but short ascent towards Nicky.. we repeat the decent down on the steps. The rest of the walk is down hill through a wood with well defined paths, that will be uneven and possibly muddy in part, there is a final field to cross before a country lane takes us back to the cars....

There is no break on this walk except a water break as needed .
Dogs welcome, but MUST be on leads on the sheep fell ...
there is a £2 fee for non Rambler members
