This is a pleasant 8 mile walk with some interesting features along the way. Walking in an anti clockwise direction we walk along country lanes, through farm land, fields, and woodland...There is a gradual, but gentle climb to a height of 653ft to Harrisend Fell. We skirt around the fell on an established path.. from here we make our way towards Dolphineholme were we pass through a small corner of the village.. and head back towards scorton picnic area.. following the River Wyre for a short way and back through an interesting wood. Hopefully the abundance of snow drops may still be present.. some of paths along this walk, especially in the woodlands have exposed tree roots, and some paths maybe a little eroded.. if it has rained it will be muddy in parts. There are a few styles, a couple have seen better days, and there is a short steep embankment to climb with a style at the top. There is one stream to cross, walking poles are useful for this walk.. waterproof boots are recommended ...
**Should the weather be against us the walk will be altered to a more suitable walk.. meet up still at same place ... mileage will be similar...
