Meet on the small car park Dock side opposite B and M bargains... This is apx 7.5 mile leisurely walk, taking in 5 miles of The Guild Wheel (which is 21 miles in total). It is mainly a flat walk with a gentle incline towards a foot bridge. The paths are purpose made and good to walk on, and we share them with cyclists. We follow parts of the Lancaster Canal, the Milenium Link and through purpose built pathways through Cottam estate..
There no styles. We will stop for a 20 ish minute break at the Ancient Oak pub... please do not order food here, only drinks. There is outdoor seating ...
we leave the Guild Wheel at this point and return to the car via paths and the canal, and skirting Haslem Park.... I anticipate a small amount of mud along the canal. The last half a mile is a footpath following Pedders Lane.. which takes us back to Preston Dock.
£2 charge for none Rambler members, dogs on leads welcome and children (think it is half term) ...
I expect the walk to finish no later than 2.30 pm but sometimes delays can happen..
