Let’s Volunteer Together | Pride & Joy: Greater Lowell
Details
Mill City Grows grew a whole lot of potatoes this year—and they need some help digging them up!
Join Pride & Joy: Greater Lowell at Pawtucket Farm Wildlife Sanctuary for a casual community volunteer day. We’ll spend about 30–45 minutes harvesting potatoes for Mill City Grows markets and CSAs, followed by an optional tour of the developing food forest.
Good to know: No tools required; non-latex gloves will be provided. Bring water and expect sun, uneven ground, and some bending. A bus stop is located at the parking lot. The trails are somewhat accessible, though the All Persons Trail is currently under construction. Reach out with accessibility questions.
Light rain won’t stop us, but heavier rain will move the event to Sunday, September 27, at the same time and location.

Why volunteer together? Community doesn’t always have to mean sitting around a table. Sometimes it’s nice to coexist, do something useful, and give back together. We hope to make volunteer and community activities like this a regular part of Pride & Joy: Greater Lowell.
And yes, the pond turtles will probably be there too.
