What we’re about
After running hundreds of successful events in Melbourne over the past 8 years, Pride Outside has decided to bring the fun to SE Qld 🤩 Pride Outside is a safe space for anyone who identifies as LGBTQIA+ and enjoys getting outdoors or trying new things whilst making new friends. The group is aimed at bringing like-minded people together (allies welcome!) for some fresh air, good conversation and a bit of exercise and exploring the wonders that South East Queensland has to offer.
We mostly hike but we also love doing other stuff - like rock climbing, stand up paddle boarding, and trail / fun runs. We also list social things like movie nights, wine tastings, comedy events, or trying our hands at something arty.
Most events will be scheduled on the weekends, and some events will require various levels of fitness; from beginner level to more moderate and challenging activities. More detailed information will be posted for each event. Suggestions for locations, hikes, and other social or outdoorsy activities are always welcomed!
We have a [Facebook](https://facebook.com/groups/prideoutsidemelbourne/) group for chats, photos, event suggestions and to engage with other group members. Feel free to join in and post! Just remember to keep it appropriate and avoid advertising.
We have an [Instagram](www.instagram.com/prideoutsideau) account where we share upcoming events and activities, LGBTQIA+ news and info and other fun community stuff.
RSVP and Waitlist Policy:
We understand that plans change, but if you can no longer attend an event it is your responsibility to take yourself off the going / waiting list. A courtesy message to the event organiser is required if you decide not to attend within 24 hours of the start of the event or after the RSVP is closed. Failure to do so will result in you being flagged as a no show. People with 3 'no show' flags will be removed from the group.
Those on the wait list are also required to keep their RSVPs up to date. If you are automatically moved to the going list prior to the RSVP closing, then the no show rule will also apply.
