2nd PrimeTime Mini TED Talks!
Details
Well Covid changed a lot of things and this very popular event was one of its casualties. Not only were we not able to have large gatherings in indoor spaces, but we lost our host venue, the venerable Threadgill's to closure.
But now with Covid a bit in the shadows, we are once again venturing out into the realm of what can be. Fortunately for us, one of our members (Bob!) was able to gain us entrance into the beautiful St. Michael's Catholic Academy where we will have full use of their dining hall for these Talks.
This event will be a potluck and BYOB. We will also have access to the kitchen if needed. And hopefully, after seeing how good guests that we are, we will be invited back to this wonderful space in the future.
So many of our members have things to share. From solving big problems like political division and overpopulation to little things like how to create a sit-down dinner party or how to clean stains out of your carpet. And of course there are many topics that would have a broad appeal to our age group: health issues, financial issues, relationship issues, travel... Or maybe you are an aspiring comic that just wants to make us laugh or a storyteller with an interesting story that you want to share. I do know that our PrimeTime community has a plethora of uber talented individuals whose takes on our world would be worthwhile for us to hear.
So please join us for the 2nd PrimeTime Mini TED Talks! event featuring speakers from the PrimeTime community. With your support these Talks will become a recurring event on our calendar.
5:30 PM to 7 PM will be our designated eating/mingling period. At 7 PM our Mini TED Talks start. Six speakers will speak for 10 minutes each with a short Q & A after each talk. The presentations should end around 8:45 PM with some time at the end for connecting.
PARKING: There will be plenty of parking spaces available. Park in the Student Parking lot. It is on the north side of the buildings and there is a sign which says Student Parking (among other things).
How to find us: We are in the big building that is just to the south of the student parking lot. This is an L-shaped building. From the parking lot, walk down the curved ramp that goes down toward the front of that building. Looking to the right you will see what looks like a 2-3 story building. There is a one story part of the building if you keep on walking around the front of the building. That is where you will enter. We will be in the dining hall. We should have some signage or a flag to help you with this.
*** If you would like to make a 10 minute presentation at a future Mini TED Talk event, PM me at angelo009@aol.com with the title of your talk and a brief synopsis of what your talk will be about. Thanks!
