Creek Show 2023
Save the date!
I love this annual lighted art show! If you have never been, it is an easy stroll along Waller Creek, below street level, from 9th Street to Waterloo Park at 12th Street. Each year, Creek Show commissions site-specific work by Austin based architects, landscape architects, designers and artists. These dazzling art installations reflect local history, flavor, hydrology, and more. The interactive pieces tell different stories and play on all the senses.
Waterloo Park will feature free live entertainment and an assortment of booths and trailers to purchase food and beverages. (If you have never been to Waterloo Park, you are in for a treat! It is a big playground for big people.) Well behaved dogs on leashes are welcome.
There is no charge for the show, but TICKET RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED from Waterloo Greenway. The reservation system has not opened yet. I will post the link as soon as reservations are accepted. Watch for updates here.
Disclaimers: Creek Show 2023 actually runs from November 10 to November 18th. Paid parking is available (garages and street), but I highly recommend carpooling and /or CapMetro. Meet at a Park N Ride and ride the same bus together. It's a hoot! I promise. And, it is 107 here today, but the night I schedule to go to CreekShow is always the coldest night of the month. Don't let that discourage you. The installations are below ground level with amazingly comfortable temperatures.
In peace.
