Life, Literature and Wine - A Conversational Salon
Details
TAKING A DECEMBER BREAK
Come join a lively conversation while sipping some wonderful wines and sharing delicious appetizers with fellow compatriots who long to discuss life, love, literature and anything else that strikes our fancy. The salon will meet once a month on the second Monday of the month.
Each conversation session will be hosted by one of the members of the group whose job will be to stimulate and manage the discussion. Participants will be encouraged to share in the conversation, and expand their creativity through listening, speaking and sometimes writing.
In November we brought photos of who we were 40 years ago, twenty years ago, and now. It was fun to reminisce about how we have changed through the years. We are taking a break for December and will return in January. We will meet at Greg and Louise's home for a discussion of Virginia Giuffre's book, Nobody's Girl: A Memoir of Surviving Abuse and Fighting for Justice. Please bring some wine or an appetizer to share.

"Our distant relatives gathered around the fire. Since then, most cultures have had some form of social form like the salon. It's just basic to being human - people need to get together and talk over the things they care about and believe in." Salons: the Joy of Conversation by Jaida Sandra, Jon Spayde and the Editors of the Utne Reader
The objective of the salon is to encourage creativity, involvement, and participation in Austin's lively and energetic art and culture, and stimulate our own creativity.
