What we're about
This is the local (Prince George's County, Maryland) chapter of the National Audubon Society. Our monthly meetings are held jointly with the Patuxent Bird Club (the local chapter of the Maryland Ornithological Society) on the second Tuesday of every month, 7:30pm, at the College Park Airport Operations Building, which is right next to the College Park Aviation Museum. We invite birders of all skill levels to join us for our three regularly-occurring walks in the area, as well as other events as scheduled. There is no charge, and events are open to non-members. See our website http://www.pgaudubon.org for more information.

We host a morning bird walk on the third Saturday of every month at Governor Bridge Natural Area in Bowie, MD. Walking speed is usually close to glacial. Binoculars are encouraged (if you ask ahead we should be able to bring an extra pair to loan).

This walk happens on the first and third Thursday of every month. From September through March, the walks start at 3:00. From April through August, we start at 6:00.
Watch the seasons change at Artemesia! It's a little different every time you go. Late spring brings warblers, orioles, gnatcatchers. Summer brings nests - green herons, orioles, gnatcatchers, to name a few that have been found in the past. Fall brings more migrants and the disappearance of the nesting birds. Winter belongs to the water birds - ducks, geese, swans that spend their winters with us.
Bring water and wear sun protection. If you need to borrow binoculars or a field guide somebody usually has extras to share.
