WHAT- TigerLaunch, Princeton’s national entrepreneurship competition, Looking for mentors for teams which have qualified for their second round, which is a regional competition in Chicago or LA. WHY-

TigerLaunch, is a national entrepreneurship competition that brings together startups from around the nation. The three-stage contest is put on annually by the Princeton Entrepreneurship Club, a leading campus organization that has hosted executives like Eric Schmidt (Executive Chairman of Alphabet, formerly Google) and partnered with firms like Anthos Capital (a VC fund in Silicon Valley). Last year, the twenty startups that reached the final stage of the competition were from fields as diverse as medicine, internet services, and agricultural tech. TigerLaunch gives these teams months of mentorship and the chance to compete through regionals and a final Demo day for $30,000 in prizes. So far, TigerLaunch has already seen applications from teams with tens of thousands of users, thousands of dollars in monthly revenues, and support from places like Google I/O extended. We have finished our first round of judging, and around 60 teams have qualified for the second round, which involve regionals in New York, LA and Chicago. However before regionals, we would ideally like to give all these teams the opportunity to talk to mentors so they can improve their ideas before the next round.

HOW- The aim of the mentorship is to help the teams further develop their ideas, and also to help them prepare for regionals. At the regionals, teams will have to present more concrete details on the aspects of their product/business that they spoke about in the video pitches and application. They will also have to talk about the process they have made since the applications. Ideally we would also like a demo of their product or if that is impossible, then we would require some sort of presentation.

WHEN- The time commitment for mentors is 2 hours, which can be split over 2 or more video calls (Google Hangout), which we leave up to the teams and mentors to decide. It can be two calls of an hour, or they can also have 4 calls of 30 minutes, it is up to them. This must be completed before regionals, both of which are on the weekend of 27th Feb.
