Abstract
The market for health and care information technology is broken. Privacy enhancing technologies may permit new models of distributed care, transforming applications designed for patients and professionals,
as well as data processing for managing and improving services and clinical research.
In this talk, the author uses Wardley mapping to map out the user needs, the components of electronic health and care records
and look to the future, in which privacy-enhancing technologies are an important foundation on which to build the next
generation of health and care software.
Biography
Dr Mark Wardle is a Consultant Neurologist and Clinical Lecturer, Co-director of the South Wales Motor Neurone Disease Network and Chair of the NHS Wales Technical Standards Board. He has built a wide range of open source healthcare software including an electronic patient record system used across Wales.
