🏛️ 📣 🐷 RALLY AGAINST Save Our Bacon Act (SOBA)

With Farm Bill negotiations stalled during the August recess, we have a critical window to take action. Save Our Bacon Act, a bill that would eliminate or jeopardize more than 600 state and local animal protection and food safety laws. If passed, it would represent one of the most significant rollbacks of animal welfare protections in modern history.

Join Pro-Animal Oregon, Portland Changemakers, Compassion in World Farming, and Lewis & Clark ALDF for a peaceful rally outside U.S. Senator Ron Wyden's Portland office as we urge him to make a public statement in opposition to this dangerous legislation. A strong public stance from him could have a major impact on the future of this bill.

We're aiming to bring together 50–100 people to send a clear message: Oregonians oppose the Save Our Bacon Act and want Senator Wyden to publicly stand against it. We'll be sharing photos from the rally with his office, so every attendee makes a difference. The more people who show up, the harder it will be to ignore the growing opposition to this legislation among his constituents.

The rally itself will be peaceful, respectful, and welcoming to both experienced advocates and first-time activists.

Please arrive between 12:30 pm and 12:45 pm so we can begin promptly at 1.

We want lots of press coverage! You’re invited to wear a pig costume and ride your bike to the rally!
Here’s a reasonably priced inflatable pig costume on Amazon,
Be sure to order soon so it arrives in time for the rally!

If you have a green Pro-Animal Oregon shirt, please wear it. If not one will be provided for you!
We'll also have pre-made signs for everyone.
