Jazz vocalist Petra van Nuis and bassist Joe Policastro met over 25 years ago in their hometown of Cincinnati. Brought together by a shared musical aesthetic, they began collaborating in a variety of instrumentations, often with Petra's husband, guitarist Andy Brown. After brief stints in other locals (Petra and her husband in NYC and Joe in Berlin), these musicians reunited in Chicago 20 years ago. Petra and Joe play regularly in a variety of ensembles at prominent Chicago venues including the Jazz Showcase, the Green Mill and Andy's Jazz Club as well as tour to jazz festivals and clubs. On special and rare occasions, Petra and Joe team up for their intimate voice/bass duo where expressive interplay meets timeless swing.
