This is an invite for the Austin Robotics Paper Club. This month we are covering Path Planning.

We’ll be reading [Motion Planning for Autonomous Driving with a Conformal Spatiotemporal Lattice](https://www.ri.cmu.edu/pub_files/2011/5/20100914_icra2011-mcnaughton.pdf) (ICRA 2011), a landmark lattice-based planner that still underpins many modern stacks such as ROS 2 Nav2, and [Gen-Drive: Enhancing Diffusion Generative Driving Policies with Reward Modeling and RL Fine-tuning](https://arxiv.org/pdf/2410.05582), a diffusion-RL approach that outperforms recent baselines on nuPlan.

We will work to build an intuition for path planning and think through how these policies can transfer to mobile manipulators.

Savio will be our paper captain guiding us through these papers.

Although we encourage everyone to read the papers beforehand, the first 15 minutes of the meeting will be reserved for reading the paper if you didn’t have time to read it during the week.
