This time we'll be strolling around Hampstead Heath and discussing ***Discourse on the Method of Rightly Conducting One's Reason and of Seeking Truth in the Sciences*** by René Descartes - one of the most influential works in the history of modern philosophy in which he tackles the problem of scepticism and builds a foundation of knowledge on pure reason.

**Hampstead Heath gets very muddy if it has been raining so wear appropriate shoes and clothes you don't mind getting muddy.**

**Please read the following notes carefully and check the meeting point location details before attending!**

This is a walking discussion group with handouts with quotes and questions provided as a starting point. The only rule is to keep all discussion friendly and constructive and be respectful of other attendees. No dogs please as they can be distracting in the group discussion. **Please arrive early: we wait a maximum of 15 minutes at the meeting location and once we have left it will be very difficult to find us.** The walk will go ahead no matter the weather so do dress appropriately and bring an umbrella if needed.

There is a £5 fee for this walk to contribute towards the meetup.com fees and other costs. If you genuinely can't afford the fee then you can attend for free.

Hampstead Heath

For our June photography walk we'll be exploring the area around the Thames Barrier. The area has lots of interesting architecture, old industrial buildings and an unusual park.

Meet outside the Pontoon Dock DLR station at 10am. We will wait 15 minutes but if you come later you'll miss the walk.

Please be respectful and considerate of anyone in your photos and don't make people feel uncomfortable. As with anywhere in London be very careful with your camera and equipment and always keep an eye out for your safety and security.

Our walks are open to all levels from beginner to pro. This is not a tutorial or workshop, just a chance to take some photos and meet other people with an interest in photography. The only rules are to be friendly and respectful to the other attendees and be mindful of your surroundings and anyone in your photos.

**The walk is £5 to help towards the costs of running the group, this can be paid in cash or card on the day.**
