How does it work online?
Please take time at least 10 minutes before the event to pay and register for an account at http://zoom.us (in case you don't have one already).

In each session we have a new topic and will tackle a variety of vocabulary. We will use the breakout feature of Zoom. You will get different discussion points and speak one-on-one with 3-4 other German learners in a separate chat room. After around 5-10 minutes I'll join your room and you'll give me an account of your conversation. I'll then correct your German and give you personalized feedback. After that you'll be assigned to a new group and discuss a new point.

Are there requirements?
If you are able to have a basic conversation about simple everyday topics - you are ready! If you have no German at all, get started with the mentioned requirements and join us in a few weeks!

Hosting a meetup is not free. The €5 fee covers the Meetup organizer fee, the zoom membership fee, the preparation and the teaching of the class.

Du interessierst dich für deutsche Literatur? Im German Short Story Club analysieren und diskutieren wir jede zweite Woche eine neue literarische Kurzgeschichte! Das ist eine tolle Gelegenheit, dein Deutsch zu üben, klassische und moderne deutsche Kurzgeschichten kennenzulernen und mit anderen darüber zu diskutieren. Die Geschichte, die wir lesen ist "Mal was anderes" von Kurt Knusenberg.

Vorbereitung:

1. Sobald du dich angemeldet und bezahlt hast, schicke ich dir eine PDF mit der Geschichte per E-Mail.
2. Lies dir die Geschichte vor dem Treffen mindestens einmal durch.

Wie das Treffen abläuft:

1. Kurze Vorstellungsrunde
2. Wir besprechen mögliche Fragen zu Vokabeln und Ausdrücken, die du nicht verstanden hast
3. In kleinen Gruppen diskutieren wir verschiedene literarische Stilmittel und analysieren den Inhalt und die Aussage des Textes

Voraussetzung:

Da es sich um Literatur handelt, sollte dein Deutsch Level mindestens B1 sein.

Warum kostet es etwas?
Die Veranstaltung eines Meetups ist nicht kostenlos. Die Gebühr von 5 €/pro Treffen deckt die Veranstaltergebühr für das Meetup, den Zoom-Mitgliedsbeitrag, die Vorbereitung und die Durchführung des Treffens.

Are you interested in German literature? In the German Short Story Club we analyze and discuss a new literary short story every week! This is a great opportunity to practice your German, learn about classic and modern German short stories, and discuss them with others. The story we will read is "Mal was anderes" von Kurt Knusenberg.

Preparation:

1. once you have registered and paid, I will email you a PDF with the story.
2. read the story at least once before the meeting.

How the meeting will proceed:

1. Short round of introductions
2. We discuss possible questions about vocabulary and expressions you didn't understand
3. In small groups, we will discuss various literary stylistic devices and analyze the content and message of the text

Prerequisite:
Since we are reading literature, your German level should be at least B1.
