Hotel for May 24th and 25th, 2024: Fairfield Inn , 10150 N. Oracle Rd., Oro Valley Arizona. Phone #520-202-4000. The best prices are online. They were not able to give me special prices because of the holiday weekend. I was quoted $161.00 for a single King and $194.00 for a double queen. Plus Tax.

Sites to see: Mount Lemmon, Old Tucson, Saguaro National Park, Catwalk Recreation Area and Salt River Canyon.

(MTRA) Memorial Weekend Ride to Oro Valley

**Please join us for a ride to the Capulin Volcano and Clayton Lake State Park and Dinosaur Trackways. A geological expedition!**

We will meet at the Smiths on Tramway and Central (200 Tramway Blvd SE, Albuquerque, NM) at 12:30 PM on June 14th. The briefing will be at 12:45 PM with KSU at 1:00 PM.

We will take Old Route 66 to Highway 14, we will head north stopping in Madrid for a quick break. From 14, we will take the bypass around Santa Fe and stop for gas at the Sinclair (Dinosaur Station) in Pojoaque. From Pojoaque, we will take the high road to Taos, and stop in Taos for a break and gas. After the quick stop, we will take Hwy 64 to Cimarron, make a gas stop to fill up, then go to the St. James Hotel. ***Please have a full tank before KSU on Saturday.***

On Saturday, we will have our briefing at 8:00 with KSU at 8:15 AM go to breakfast as a group then take Hwy 64 to Raton with a few miles on I-25. To be safe, we will top off our tanks in Raton. From Raton, we will take Highway 87 to Capulin Volcano National Monument.

After viewing the Capulin Volcano, we will continue on HWY 87 to Clayton for gas and lunch. After lunch we will travel to Clayton Lake State Park and Dinosaur Trackways.

For the return to the Hotel, we will take HWY 412 to Springer for a gas stop. From Springer, we will take HWY 21 back to the St James Hotel.
We will stay a second night at the St James Hotel.

On Sunday, we will have our briefing at 9:00 with KSU at 9:15 AM go to breakfast as a group, grab some gas, then take HWY 64 to Angel Fire, then take HWY 434 to Mora then travel to Las Vegas for gas and lunch2.
From Las Vegas we will take I-25 back to Albuquerque; however, for those that live east, feel free to split off on HWY 14 to return home.

***Important:*** The hotel would not take group reservations so either make your reservations online or call them, the web site and phone number are below, The manager said that they have availability on the nights we are there, but not to wait too long.

***Note on dining*:** The St. James Hotel has a full restaurant and bar; however, they do not currently serve breakfast.
For breakfast and other meals, I will post the restaurants as we get closer to the ride. Will need a headcount in case reservations or changes are needed.

Father’s Day Weekend Ride (June 14 through 16)

Motorcycle Glamping trip to Montrose, Colorado. Departing from Albuquerque (location TBD) and exact time TBD. We will be staying at Cedar Creek RV park in Montrose, Colorado. This RV park has Tiny Homes, Retro Trailers, Yurt, and cabins; a club house, fire pit for making smores and campfire pies, onsite store, free-wifi and laundry.

This RV park is a couple of blocks from Hwy 50 so we will have easy access to travel to the Black Canyon of the Gunnison for some sightseeing. Other plans will be more fully developed and information will be provided.

There is a Super 8 by Wyndham a few blocks north of the RV park if you would like to stay there. All activities will take place at Cedar Creek RV park.

 4th of July Weekend Glamping Trip

Leave the Albuquerque area Saturday morning and ride to Chama. Stay overnight at the Vista Del Rio Lodge. Call 1-575-756-2138 to make reservations. 5 rooms are being held at $99 +tax per night under MTRA or Tony Sciortino. Sunday morning, 8/25, catch the all day train ride. Purchase a train ticket on their website for the All Aboard Chama: Train then Bus. Cost $115 for coach, includes lunch. Ride home Monday morning. Full itinerary will be announced at a later date.
