Passo passo esploreremo la costruzione di un sistema RAG utilizzando esclusivamente le funzionalità messe a disposizione da OpenSearch.
Partiremo dalla creazione di un indice capace di rappresentare le relazioni tra embedding grazie alla struttura a grafo, che consente di garantire ricerche semantiche rapide e accurate, soprattutto nel caso di documenti complessi e strutturati.
Mostreremo poi come integrare direttamente in OpenSearch un modello linguistico e vettoriale tramite i connector disponibili, configurandoli in modo da recuperare correttamente i documenti e bilanciare precisione e creatività nelle risposte in base al nostro use case.
Infine, ci concentreremo sulla definizione di un flusso ad agenti che combina ricerca semantica e generazione testuale, arricchito da una gestione della memoria conversazionale per garantire coerenza e contestualità nelle interazioni.
L’obiettivo è offrire
\- una panoramica pratica su come portare in produzione una RAG con OpenSearch\, mostrando sia le scelte architetturali che la possibilità di personalizzazione ed estensione in base a casi d’uso reali e complessi\.
\- conoscenze concrete e strumenti pratici per sviluppare sistemi RAG efficaci e modulari su OpenSearch\, pronti a essere adattati a contesti applicativi avanzati\.

In today’s world, where data is increasingly complex and voluminous, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) techniques are becoming essential tools for building artificial intelligence systems capable of combining efficient search with contextualized text generation.

Step by step, we will explore the construction of a RAG system using exclusively the features provided by OpenSearch.
We will start by creating an index capable of representing relationships between embeddings through a graph structure, which ensures fast and accurate semantic searches, especially in the case of complex and structured documents.
Next, we will show how to directly integrate a language and vector model into OpenSearch via available connectors, configuring them to correctly retrieve documents and balance precision and creativity in responses according to our use case.
Finally, we will focus on defining an agent-based workflow that combines semantic search and text generation, enhanced by conversational memory management to ensure coherence and contextuality in interactions.
The goal is to
\- offer a practical overview of how to bring a RAG system into production with OpenSearch\, demonstrating both architectural choices and possibilities for customization and extension based on real and complex use cases\.
\- concrete knowledge and practical tools to develop effective and modular RAG systems on OpenSearch\, ready to be adapted to advanced application contexts\.
We look forward to exploring these cutting-edge technologies together and sharing industry experiences in a technical and collaborative environment.
