Let’s start our first meetup with something easy and flexible: **coffee and conversation** at a local coffee shop near Cleveland Heights in Oakland. This is a chance to meet other people involved in immigrant justice, whether through volunteering, frontline work, advocacy, or other forms of community support.

This work can be demanding, and keeping up with what’s happening can feel overwhelming when so much of our awareness comes through online news and social media. This gathering offers something different: a chance to get to know one another beyond our individual roles, exchange perspectives on what we’re seeing and experiencing, and build connections with people who share our commitment.

**This isn’t a rally, a campaign meeting, or a call to mobilize.** It complements those spaces by creating room for the relationships and community support that can be harder to build across organizations and roles. It’s an opportunity to connect, share information, build resilience, and feel less alone in this work. Share as much or as little as you like; there’s no pressure to disclose personal experiences or agree on everything.

We’ll meet at **4 PM**, grab a beverage or snack, and keep things casual. Future gatherings can be shaped by the people who join.

Hey folx! We're finally doing it: Quietly Queer is getting together for an improv class!

Join us on Sunday, November 22, for a private 90-minute improv class designed specifically for our group, led by Kat Brown, co-founder of [Provocation Theatre,](https://www.provocationtheatre.com/) Berkeley's queer- and femme-owned improv theater. Provocation is all about laughter, community, creative expression, and cultivating queer joy. This is a private class exclusively for QQ members.

**The class is $35. Payment to the organizer is required within 24 hours of your RSVP to guarantee your spot,** otherwise we will need to remove your name to make space for others and have an accurate headcount. If neither Venmo nor Zelle works for you, reach out and we'll figure something out. There are 20 spots available.

**Never tried improv? Perfect.** You do not need or have to be funny to join this class. This is a chance to step outside your comfort zone, try something creative, and connect with other QQ folks in a welcoming, low-pressure environment. No comedy experience or aspirations to become a performer required. Just come ready to play, experiment, and have some fun together!

Your ticket includes the private improv class, a ticket to an All Out Comedy improv show on a date of your choosing, and a beverage of your choice at the improv show. After class, anyone who wants to keep hanging out can join us for optional beverages at Way Station Brew.
