Product management lessons from Amazon's success

Details

In many ways, Amazon has defied the traditional laws of business operation and has continuously demonstrated new formulas for winning in the digital era. Could the basic principles behind this success also guide product development?

Join us on our next Product Community Greece webinar, on Tuesday May 11th, where Babis Makrynikolas, currently VP of Product and Pricing at Blueground, will share valuable insights on the topic, based on his experience during his six year tenure at Amazon.

This is a live webinar with a question panel. Feel free to join the panel and vote for the question that represents you or write your own question and let others vote here: https://app.sli.do/event/skhmt96h

Product management lessons from Amazon's success

The principles behind building and scaling a world class company do not differ much from those used for developing a successful product. Product managers can learn a lot from successful founders and CEOs. In this talk, Babis Makrynikolas, shares some of the most important lessons learned during his time at Amazon and explains how they can be adopted by product teams. You will learn:

What is the most important question to ask about the future?
What is a one-way door decision?
What is a question mark email and what should you do when you get one?
What is a famous quote that Henry Ford (probably) didn’t say?
What do Steven King and Jeff Bezos have in common?

Meet the Speaker: Babis Makrynikolas, VP Product & Pricing, Blueground

Babis is currently the VP of Product and Pricing at Blueground. When he was a kid he thought he would become an archaeologist, while in college the odds were that he would pursue a career in finance. He eventually got into product by chance and never looked back. Before joining Blueground, Babis spent six years in several product roles at Amazon and AWS. In his free time he blogs about product, tech, and marketplaces at bmak.substack.com. Babis holds an MBA from UCLA Anderson School of Management and a BSc in Finance from the University of Piraeus.
