You are cordially invited to the very exciting first meetup of Product Elevation!

We are a group created for passionate Product Managers, amazing UX people, and innovators worldwide, to get together to share case studies, examples and stories about elevating products to solve our customers' most wicked problems.

We are not about dry theory, but about telling our stories to help us all learn and grow - including how we failed, what we learned, how we elevated our products in the face of complexity and change. Our focus on case studies aims to give you inspiration to experiment.

N.B. To join the meetup on the day, please use the Hopin link (visible on the right of the page after you RSVP.

We're in for a treat in meetup 1 as Jeff Gothelf talks to us about the latest Lean UX case studies, and and we are also joined by the brilliant Glen Holmes, a Product Manager in Workday.

TALK 1: Lean UX - Jeff Gothelf

In this session Jeff will cover some of the new additions to the 3rd edition of Lean UX (due out later this year) as well as 2-3 new case studies shared in the book from organisations in industries as varied as legacy education technology to SaaS startups. In addition, Jeff will discuss the intersection of Lean UX and Design Sprints as covered in the new book. Most importantly, Jeff will leave a significant amount of time to questions from the audience about all things Lean UX, Agile, OKRs and product management.

ABOUT JEFF GOTHELF:

Jeff helps organizations build better products and executives build the cultures that build better products. He is the co-author of the award-winning book Lean UX and the Harvard Business Review Press book Sense & Respond.

Starting off as a software designer, Jeff now works as a coach, consultant and keynote speaker helping companies bridge the gaps between business agility, digital transformation, product management and human-centred design.

Most recently Jeff co-founded Sense & Respond Press, a publishing house for practical business books for busy executives. His most recent book, Forever Employable, was published in June 2020.

TALK 2: How I said no to a $1.5M deal and kept my job! - Glen Holmes (Workday)

The ability to say “No” is a fundamental characteristic of a Product Manager. Saying no to customers is hard though right? And saying no to your VPs or your CEO is even harder. And saying no to a deal worth €1.5 million when your VP and CEO want you do go ahead with it is practically impossible. In this talk Glen will discuss a time when he was faced with this dilemma and how he said no without getting fired!

ABOUT GLEN HOLMES:

Glen Holmes works in Product at Workday. Glen has been working in Technology Management for over 20 years and has followed the well-worn path from (average) developer to Product Manager!. Glen is passionate about solving customer’s problems and making their lives easier. As well as working in Product, Glen also moonlights as an Associate Lecturer in Business Analytics and in Emerging Technologies at National College of Ireland. Glen is a Product Management evangelist and has spoken on various Product Management events such as Industry, The Product Conference, ProductTank and ProductCamp Dublin.
