[7:00 - 7:35] - Introducing Productivity Engineering (Sangeeta Narayanan and Mike McGarr)

Sangeeta and Mike would like to spend some time welcoming everybody back to the meetup. We would also like to share an update on the rebranding, as well as talk about Productivity Engineering. We will share examples of Productivity Engineering at Netflix and where we think this is going. We are also looking forward to hearing your feedback on these ideas. Much of our talk will discuss our most recent blog post on Productivity Engineering (https://medium.com/@ProdEngSV/productivity-engineering-4aff8b560d0b)

[7:35 - 8:15] - Productivity Engineering at Strava (Pan Thomakos)

When is the right time to start building a productivity engineering team? How many engineers should you add to this new team? How can you measure success? And can you even effectively measure productivity? A few years ago, at Strava, we did not have a Productivity Engineering team at all - now we have a dedicated team of one. And, many other engineers spend some portion of their time working on productivity related tasks. But how did we get here; where are we going; and how do we approach the task of improving long-term productivity? In this talk I will introduce you to the framework Strava uses when developing for productivity engineering, and I will provide you with the tools to answer these questions for yourself and for your company.
