Hardware Moats in an AI World: Why Pure SaaS is Losing its Edge
Details
In an era where AI can replicate pure software over a weekend, traditional SaaS moats are evaporating overnight. When any interface can be reverse-engineered or replaced by an AI wrapper, how do product leaders build uncopyable value?
The answer lies where digital intelligence meets the physical world.
In this session, Tas will explore the rise of cyber-physical product management. Drawing from her experience driving product strategy at Caterpillar Trimble Control Technologies (CTCT), she will break down why anchoring cutting-edge software, IoT, and AI to heavy industrial hardware creates the ultimate product moat.
Key Takeaways:
- Beyond the Screen: How to connect digital and physical worlds —from embedded edge interfaces to cloud data routing.
- True End-to-End Ownership: Moving past the "execution-only" trap common in global capability centers to drive genuine strategic thinking.
- The Future of Defensibility: Why the next frontier of product management belongs to those who build intelligent products that move the physical world.
Whether you’re a senior PM feeling the fatigue of standard SaaS dashboards or a product leader looking to future-proof your strategy against automated replication, this talk will reshape how you view defensibility, scale, and product ownership.
