World Product Day, 2020!

World Product Day is an annual event to celebrate our craft and community. Last year, over 90 local, in-person, events happened all over the world in one day – and we’re bringing it back on May 27, 2020!

Our speakers for the night (expanded bios, below) are:

1. Louise Bernstein - Group Product Manager @ Hubspot will present: What does your team need from a product leader?

Product Managers tend to be self-starters, confident, and don’t like to be micromanaged. Whether a mentor or manager to others, this talk will cover how to lead a team so it becomes greater than the sum of its parts, and they grow their individual impact at the same time.

2. Randy Silver - Director of Insights @ Motivate Design & Co-host of Product Experience Podcast will speak about: Product strategy in the time of Covid-19.

Product strategy is based on an analysis of the market, customer personas, and a series of bets on how to win in that space. Covid-19 has totally upended any work you've done in this space prior to March.
In his talk, Randy Silver will guide you through the questions you need to be asking and the discussions you need to be having to ensure that you're doing the right things right now.

Biographies

Louise Bernstein has enjoyed 14 years of driving product success across multiple industries and geographies, leading teams that serve customers from Fortune 10 to small SMBs. In 2019 Louise was shortlisted as Woman In IT Ireland's Business Role Model of the year, and was awarded HubSpot's Great Manager Award. Louise regularly mentors Product Managers on how to overcome career hurdles, lectures on how to build product and start a career in tech in many Irish universities, and spends a lot of time with school girls opening their eyes to the exciting role they have to play in how tech shapes our lives.

Randy Silver is a recovering music journalist & editor, and as been working as an interactive producer & product manager across the US & UK for nearly 20 years. After launching Amazon’s music stores in the US and UK, Randy has worked with museums and arts groups, online education, media & entertainment, retail and financial services. He’s held Head of Product roles at HSBC and Sainsbury’s, where he also directed their 100+-person product community. He's also spoken at Mind the Product Engage (Hamburg), at a number of ProductTanks (London, Zurich, Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol, Oxford, & Brighton... so far!) and at conferences across the US and Europe.
