๐ค A Product Manager's Guide to Saving the Planet
Avengers, assemble! It's time for some planet saving.
Against a ~~mildly~~ distressing backdrop of sky-rocketing energy bills, fuel insecurity caused by geopolitical instability and the planet warming up fast, it's easy to feel powerless to help.
But with more investment than ever going into transforming our energy system - we have to believe this is a problem that can be solved. And if there's one thing product managers like, it's solving problems.
In this talk, Robyn will explain how the UK energy transition is supposed to work, explore how the challenges faced are common to many product environments and argue why that should give us reason to believe that it can be done.
๐ฃ๏ธ About Robyn
Robyn Hyde is currently the Head of Product at Utility Warehouse - the UK's only multi-service utilities provider and one of the last energy suppliers standing in 2022.
Robyn has worked in product for 10 years with experience across finance, telecommunications, education and energy at companies including OVO Energy, Sky and BT. Her specialism is creating hassle free, good value experiences out of products most people find boring.
Robyn has a Bachelor's in Physics from the University of Oxford and a special interest in climate science and the energy transition. She has had the rare privilege of using the knowledge from her degree to launch a variety of en-tech innovations including vehicle-to-grid car charging, domestic batteries and solar.
Outside of work, she will take any excuse to talk about her dogs ... please ask her about her dogs.
