Spec Driven Development Part 2: How to Put it Into Practice
Details
In our last meetup, we introduced Spec-Driven Development as a way to help teams deliver higher-quality software through shared, living specifications that improve alignment and reduce ambiguity. This next session builds on that foundation by focusing on how cross-functional dev pods can work together more effectively in a spec-driven model.
We’ll explore the collaboration patterns, team rituals, and role shifts that help product, design, engineering, and adjacent partners stay aligned as specs become a more central part of delivery. The conversation will center on how teams can work together earlier and more continuously, and what it looks like to create a tighter, healthier pod operating model.
This session will include scenario-based exercises designed to help participants experience how spec-driven collaboration works in practice. We’ll look at examples that highlight successful collaboration in refinement, examine what it means for developers to play a stronger role in shaping stories, and discuss how product leadership remains essential in guiding priorities, context, and outcomes.
Attendees will leave with practical ideas for improving refinement, clarifying cross-functional roles, and creating stronger collaboration habits within their pods.
