To many of people in the local Montreal tech community, Smooch.io seemed to come out of nowhere - a well funded team of 20 people with a product used by millions of people every single day that nobody around town had ever heard of. This is the story of how through careful product management, relentless execution and smart teamwork - we found a gap in the market and forced it wide open to build a SaaS business that's leading the charge in the adoption of business messaging and conversational commerce.

Bio - Mike Gozzo is an engineer, strategist and serial entrepreneur. In 2014, he co-founded Smooch.io where he currently serves as its head of product - transforming the way that thousands of businesses and millions of consumers communicate over messaging. His first venture, Appifier, a venture-backed SaaS platform that brought web publishers to life on mobile phones and tablets was acquired in late 2013. In 2012, he was named one of Quebec's top 25 emerging entrepreneurs by the Claudine and Stephen Bronfman Foundation.

Talk 3: App Marketplaces, Platform Integrations and Resellers

It's usually sold internally to the product team as a quick and easy way to leverage another company's sales organization, but often ends up being time consuming and complex. This presentation will cover some of the common pitfalls and points product teams should consider to succeed.

Bio - Matt Fogel is cofounder of Fuzzy.io and a mentor in the FounderFuel accelerator. Fuzzy.io’s mission is to make decision-making artificial intelligence accessible to all developers. Previously, Matt was VP Product at Agendize, a global leader in customer engagement tools for small businesses, and led large-scale marketing projects for major Canadian and Fortune 500 brands. Trained as a developer, and having worked as a designer, project manager and product manager, Matt brings a uniquely holistic perspective to software product management.
