We are back in 2025 with the first ProductTank. AI is still dominating most strategy discussions and creating a sense of FOMO for many of us who are trying to keep up with the latest developments.

Where we've been, where we are, and where we're going. This talk simplifies all the jargon down to concepts familiar to us all, so we can share a common fundamental understanding of AI. We'll quickly jump through 50 years of development until 2021, make sense of the meteoric hype around AI (and what is Gen AI exactly?) in the past four years, and evaluate some potential scenarios of the future.

(Update: Due to an urgent business trip, Kristina Walcker-Mayer will no longer be speaking at this event. However, this will allow Ryan to share some additional insights about AI initiatives at Digitec Galaxus :-)

Ryan Prater is a transplant from Austin, Texas where he worked with early unicorns such as Indeed and VRBO before moving to the startup world building online marketplaces for blood (yes, human blood) in Dallas and agricultural ecommerce in Munich. He then worked for an AI startup in Lausanne to help students leverage the new AI scene to improve their research. Ryan now is a Product Manager at Digitec Galaxus for Search and Filtering and builds AI products as a hobby in his free time. He has an excited-reserved view of AI in the future and wants to share his knowledge to elevate the global conversation of how we go further as humanity.
