The universal problem every product person deals with is ensuring the metrics align with business goals and customer outcomes. Too often product designers are measuring the wrong KPIs due to problems in setting up thoughtful event tracking and focusing on vanity metrics such as registered users and downloads. This has massive implications to product strategy and can prevent product people from making the right trade-off decisions.

The goal of this conversation would be to walk through research that can help product designers build better frameworks that can support them in setting up the right KPIs to learn about how customers use products, and how the businesses that launch these products perform as a result.

During the event a presentation will be used to steer the conversation. Our conversation will kick off around 6:45pm and continue until 8:15pm or 8:30pm, followed by a reception for networking and meeting new friends. Refreshments will be provided!

Silvia Tueros-Cossio
Design Director

Silvia Tueros-Cossio is a Design Director at Quesbook, a global startup with a new and modern approach to test prep. Quesbook works to bring together all of the various elements of effective test prep into one connected experience for their customers. Previously, Silvia was a Senior Product Designer at the XO Group where she worked with a team of designers and developers on building web and mobile systems for brands such as the The Knot. Silvia also studied Advertising and Graphic Design at Boston University.

Holly Hester-Reilly
Product Management Trainer and Consultant

Holly combines a decade of experience in startups and web technology companies with experience in scientific research to bring her clients a rigorous, research driven approach to growing their businesses through successful product launches and iterations. Holly has helped startups like Plectica and, growth companies like MediaMath, Shutterstock and the Lean Startup Co, and enterprises like Weight Watchers and Toys “R” Us figure out which product growth strategies and opportunities they should pursue and build the teams to deliver on their goals. Holly also studied Chemical Engineering at Columbia University in New York City.

Michael Clark

Michael is VP of Digital Media at Entertainment Studios, a global media production company with 8 HD networks, a film distribution company, podcast network, and over 5,000 hours of HD programming. As VP, Michael also oversees the marketing of, one of the largest online sources of news and entertainment for black Americans. Previously, Michael was Director of National Sales at The Washington Post, where he led new business development initiatives in several consumer markets. He also worked with design and marketing teams on the development of the, an online source focused on black pop culture news. Michael also studied Consumer Science, Advertising, Communications and Marketing at Howard University.

John Marcantonio
Vice President of Product

John is VP of Product at MakerBot, a company that manufactures award-winning 3D printers and is the home base of the largest 3D printing community in the world. John brings 15+ years of experience managing complex projects and developing teams in startups through Fortune 500 companies. Previously, John was Director of Application Development at Lifion. He also served as an Advisor at WorkRails, a company that provides a service catalog platform which allows companies to streamline selling processes, ensuring a quality customer experience. John also studied Computer Science and Finance at NYU Poly and University of Notre Dame respectively.
