If you’re feeling relentless pressure in your professional role, or meeting all the demands of your job seem ‘impossible’; and despite your expertise and commitment, you sometimes feel you’ve been ‘set up to fail’, then this meeting is for you.

A tornado of disruptive factors is ripping through the modern workplace, wreaking havoc with working life and careers. From the hyper-competition of global markets, through the arrival of new technologies including digitalisation and artificial intelligence and more. The result is organisations taking drastic action in terms of re-structuring, cost cutting and piling pressure on employees to ‘achieve more with less’.

Short- term thinking often prevails, as organisations struggle to survive on wafer thin margins and cope with markets that seem to evaporate overnight… And of course there’s not much sympathy around for employees who complain!

If any of this this sounds familiar and you’re desperate for breathing space and longing for a bit of stability…Then join us to take back control of your career… and your life!

In this session you’ll hear about :-

• How to uncover your inner resources, so you can survive better challenging times.

• How you have more choices than you think and how you can bring them to light.

• How to evaluate your work situation more objectively, so that you don’t throw out the baby with the bathwater.

• How you CAN resolve the tensions between ‘using your hard-earned skills to make a living and coping with the demands of the global workplace in 2018, so that your restore proper balance

• How you can connect with your ‘best self’ so that you can make career – related decisions from a reliable and grounded place.

• How to keep yourself safe and healthy in all the mayhem.

• How to move from ‘overwhelm’ and clenched jaw to smiling and ‘in control’.

The presentation and Q&A will last for about 40 minutes, after this you'll get the chance to experiment with some of the tools and techniques discussed.

Looking at career issues might sound like 'serious work' - rest assured our meetings are relaxed and friendly and we give everyone a warm welcome. What's more, career change is a creative process - so I encourage everyone to have a playful, open mindset in the meetings.

Your Presenter/facilitator

Trudy Lloyd is a professionally qualified career coach and facilitator.

She helps mid-career professionals to find more meaningful, satisfying and rewarding work - work they’re more fired up about. She also helps them stay relevant and employed when workplaces are rapidly changing due to new technologies, intense competition and globalisation.

In addition to her formal training, she draws on many years of experience helping teams to innovate and be more creative in business.

She now also uses these skills to help professionals to REINVENT their careers to stay employable.

Trudy understands how professionals face many challenges in their careers these days, including the ways many companies prioritise shareholder returns over creating a 'great place to work' and developing their employees, the stresses of 'job overload' and the isolation of working in ‘remote teams’. However, she is optimistic about the possibilities for people to reinvent their careers and has helped many people head to 'new pastures' where they've found greater satisfaction and better rewards.

She helps professionals to realise that there are many ways to ‘market’ your skills in the twenty first century. You can be employed or in your own business. You can work "online" or work "offline". You can have a portfolio career, work in the UK or overseas or work flexibly, to name but a few.

‘Career reinvention’ is a process which enables midlife professionals to identify what is making them unhappy in their work situation, get clear about what they want now, and what skills and traits they have to offer. After this, they can start to get creative and discover brand new opportunities that are just right for them.

The reinvention process may throw up 'conflicting desires' and Trudy helps people resolve these conflicts and find a transformational 'third way', so it's not either/or any longer, but the opportunity to have BOTH things you want in your career.

Trudy helps people match themselves with employers or customers who need and want the skills and traits they have.

• Trudy brings extensive marketing and innovation skills to the Career Reboot :Professional Invincible You 35+ group and wants to help people think afresh about their career situation, identify new ways forward and ways they might get a better return (financial and emotional) on the effort they have invested in their career to date.

• She’s a trustee and coach with Thames Valley Careers Springboard.

• She is the author of the forthcoming book. Staying Relevant – Innovating your Professional Role after 40

I’d be delighted if you could join us on the 28th February!

• Got a friend/colleague who might be interested in this topic - it would be great if you could let them know.
