No matter how much you want to make changes to your career at midlife, sometimes it can be hard to get started. … And sometimes once you’re exploring a new path you can get 'stuck'. If any of this rings true for you, I invite you to this online meeting.

This meeting has a brand new format which gives you the opportunity to bring your career reboot challenges (even your thorniest ones!) along, and get fresh perspectives, insights and solutions.

You can bring any type of challenge to the meeting – as long as it’s related to rebooting your career at midlife. For instance you might be having trouble finding the time to make changes, you may be concerned about how a transition period might affect your finances, you may lack confidence or be procrastinating. Different parts of you may be 'at war'; part of you craving new adventures and part of you not wanting to risk you comfort and security, or you may want to explore your hopes and fears around making a change… or perhaps it's something else for you? You can bring whatever is live for you right now.

The group will be limited to 8 participants, and the time will be shared equally between everyone’s challenges. (If you don’t have a particular challenge but would just like to experience the support of this forum in action – that’s OK too). Everyone will be asked to commit to keeping the content of this session confidential.

You will receive help on your specific challenge. Depending on the nature of that challenge you will either be helped to come up with new solutions yourself (facilitated help). Or you will receive specific references, resources or information to tap into (directive help). These might include tools, techniques, models and data sources.

You’ll be in the company of like-minded professionals who have the accumulated wisdom and insights of their professional work experience. Which will likely also help you to feel supported.

Included in this meeting :-

• A safe supportive space to share what’s holding you back from rebooting your career, and where you can also open your mind and explore options freely, with no pressure to consider bigger changes than you want. You’ll feel heard and no longer alone with your uncertainty or indecision.

• You’ll receive appropriate support depending on the issue, which might include; help to solve the challenge, fresh perspectives on it, insights and signposting to resources. This will save you the time of looking for sources of help yourself, and from wrestling further with the challenge.

• Facilitated group exercises - where they are relevant to a challenge - so that you can reframe your challenge, gain new insight and practise new attitudes and behaviours that will build your motivation and self-belief and help you on your journey.

• Guided visualisations – where they are relevant to a challenge - so that you can tap into more of your personal resources including your creative thinking. You’ll increase your confidence, gain insight and develop more options.

• Opportunity to hear from others facing reboot challenges, you’ll likely feel connected to others who are making changes, which can increase your motivation and energy levels.

• You’ll get fresh ideas to free you from ‘stuck’ and get moving forward again towards that more fulfilling role, those increased rewards for your skills, that more flexible work… or whatever it is YOU want to achieve through making changes to your career.

• If there is a theme that arises that is relevant to several or more people, I may share some general info on the topic and suggest further resources, so you get maximum learning throughout our time together - whether the focus is on your topic or on someone else's.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

• Please note I will endeavour to give everyone all the help they need. However, this is a group session, and while you are welcome to bring even your toughest challenges to this meeting, we will be constrained by the time available and the need to give a fair share of attention to everyone’s challenge. If you want to work further on your challenge you will be welcome to bring your same challenge to a future open session meeting. Thanks for your understanding.

• This meetup will run regardless of the number of attendees (max 8). If there are fewer than 3 attendees, the organiser reserves the right to reduce the meeting length to 1.5 hours

Looking at career issues might sound like 'serious work' - rest assured our meetings are relaxed and friendly and we give everyone a warm welcome. What's more, career change is a creative process - so I encourage everyone to have a playful, open mindset in the meetings.

Your Presenter/facilitator

Trudy Lloyd is a professionally qualified career coach and facilitator.

She helps mid-career professionals to reinvigorate and reinvent their careers to find more meaningful, satisfying and rewarding work - work they’re more fired up about. She also helps them stay relevant and employed when workplaces are rapidly changing due to new technologies, intense competition and globalisation.

More about Trudy at:-

In addition to her formal training, she draws on many years of experience helping teams to innovate and be more creative in business.

http://www.anatelloglobal.com/about/our-people.html

She now also uses these skills to help professionals to REINVENT their careers to stay employable.

Trudy understands how professionals face many challenges in their careers these days, including the ways many companies prioritise shareholder returns over creating a 'great place to work' and developing their employees, the stresses of 'job overload' and the isolation of working in ‘remote teams’. However, she is optimistic about the possibilities for people to reinvent their careers and has helped many people head to 'new pastures' where they've found a new sense of connection, greater satisfaction and better rewards.

She helps professionals to realise that there are many ways to ‘market’ your skills in the twenty first century. You can be employed or in your own business. You can work "online" or work "offline". You can have a portfolio career, work in the UK or overseas or work flexibly, to name but a few.

‘Career reinvention’ and 'career reinvigoration' is a process which enables midlife professionals to identify what is making them unhappy in their work situation, get clear about what they want now, and what skills and traits they have to offer. After this, they can start to get creative and discover brand new opportunities that are just right for them.

The reinvention or reinvigoration process may throw up 'conflicting desires' and Trudy helps people resolve these conflicts and find a transformational 'third way', so it's not either/or any longer, but the opportunity to have BOTH things you want in your career.

Trudy helps people match themselves with employers or customers who need and want the skills and traits they have.

• Trudy brings extensive marketing and innovation skills to the Career Reboot :Professional Invincible You 35+ group and wants to help people think afresh about their career situation, identify new ways forward and ways they might get a better return (financial and emotional) on the effort they have invested in their career to date.

• She’s a trustee and coach with Thames Valley Careers Springboard.

• She is the author of the forthcoming book. Staying Relevant – Innovating your Professional Role after 40

I’d be delighted if you could join us on the 2nd May!

• Got a friend/colleague who might be interested in this topic - it would be great if you could let them know.
