PVC Monthly Membership Meeting - Newcomers join at 7pm
Are you interested in volunteering but don't know where to start? Professional Volunteer Corps may be for you. PVC organizes diverse volunteer opportunities for its members. At our monthly meeting you can sign up for any volunteer event which you would like.
So far this Summer we:
- Ushered at Purple Rose Theater.
- Volunteered with the Ann Arbor Art Fair.
- Helped out at the Michigan Celtic Festival.
- Volunteered with the Dexter-Ann Arbor Run.
- Stamped Out Hunger with Food Gatherers and the US Postal Service.
- Removed invasive species from a local park.
- Ushered for the Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra.
- Held our annual picnic.
Upcoming volunteer projects include:
- Sorting donated food at Food Gatherers.
- Helping the American Cancer Society's fundraising walk: Making Strides.
- Volunteering with Washtenaw Literacy's benefit gala.
- Assembling emergency meals for disaster and hunger relief worldwide.
In addition to volunteering, we are a social group. Many of our members meet monthly at different local restaurants to enjoy a meal. Many also meet weekly for a brisk walk to stay fit.
Come to the next meeting of Professional Volunteer Corps and you can sign up as a volunteer at one of our upcoming projects. Our next meeting is on September 12. Interested guests may attend a short information session at 7:00 p.m. and the general meeting will start at 7:30 p.m.
The only way to get involved in a project is to come to a meeting. Some PVC members prefer just the social events, others choose only volunteer events.
