CHEAPER EATS!! Casual Mexican Dinner at Taco Pros in Gurnee

Once again, we are doing a purely social dinner. This is at a casual “joint” where the eats are good, but not too expensive & you don’t need to tip. Taco Pros in Gurnee has reasonably priced Mexican food – which, ironically, is run & served by Indians. We are a melting pot! There are large tables in the place to serve our group. Almost no place takes reservations, but I don’t think we’ll need that for this casual “joint”. I will also be inviting members from my “Liberal Dating” group. That’s a much smaller group, so that won’t bring us but 1 or 2 more people at most.

My dinners focus on everyone being introduced and on everyone getting a chance to talk AND be heard. You’ll go away knowing a little more about the people you just ate dinner with. We aim to get to know each other better & we aim to get to know our new members too!! (I hope to see at least 2 new members showing up!) We can discuss basic (or even offbeat!) information about ourselves, but we can also discuss the latest idiotic, authoritarian moves of the Trump Clan that disgust or alarm us.

For example, Trump’s executive order to ban “Birthright Citizenship” is extremely worrying. I personally believe he wants to do that to be able to take ANYONE, citizen or not, out of our country if their views or actions hurt his delicate ego & then send that person to some prison somewhere. There is truly NOTHING that Trump & his cronies won’t do. They are all completely lawless. Screw the Constitution.

But we ALSO need to get to know each other on a general basis. Sometimes I engage in some random questions to reveal silly or odd things about ourselves. Just for the purpose of entertainment & possible insight into someone. Here are a few completely harmless, but maybe odd, things about me. You can share about yourself when we meet if you like.

*** Most days I wake up with a known song in my head. I could tell you what it is if I mention it right away. I may have a “random music generator” in my head, because there seems to be little order for what song I wake up with. But they are tunes you would know & sometimes they are commercial jingles. I recently woke up with the old “Good & Plenty” commercial jingle in my head & that commercial has not played since I was a child!! GO FIGURE!

*** On a similar note, I can usually identify a tune in the background that other people don’t even hear. Within hearing just a few notes, I can tell you where the tune is going next. I frequently cannot name the tune (as I SUCK at names), but I know which notes are coming next when other people have not even noticed the music at all. This may have to do with playing piano for 30 years.

*** I like to do a little gardening now that I finally live in a place where I can. I find dealing with plants and insects fascinating & satisfying. I have always had an interest in science & there is plenty of science in gardening. But this is NOT ODD & some of you might relate!

*** I have never been a greedy person & greed was looked down upon by my family, so it was NOT encouraged (an offshoot of Christian roots). So I didn’t get the usual American memo that “Greed is Good”. However, the one place I “feel” greedy is in a library. I just want to check out Everything! I want to KNOW everything! Practicality takes over & I limit myself to borrowing no more than 14 books at a time. Yes, I like PHYSICAL books!!

SO REALLY our social events leave the conversation open to WHATEVER we feel like talking about! I mentioned these “odd” things about me to whet your appetite for showing up & conversing with us! And as is always the case, I have a lot of members who’ve never attended an event yet. Well, we want to meet you! Please come join us for dinner this Saturday at Taco Pros! INDIVISIBLE & several other “resist” organizations are organizing a NATION-WIDE protest on the exact same day that Donald Trump will be spending millions of our tax dollars on a Military Birthday Parade for himself!! He’s spending millions of dollars for yet more self-glorification while pushing a Bill in Congress to radically cut Medicaid. So INDIVISIBLE & other groups will be organizing nation-wide to PROTEST Trump & to humiliate him on his birthday (if that’s possible!).
