June 14th “NO KINGS” RALLY and LUNCH After! This is FUN, folks!!

This event is a combination Political Rally with Lunch after it. I’ve been to 3 rallies so far & I really had A LOT OF FUN at them! The Rally is set up by INDIVIDIBLE & a host of other political groups who are opposing the Trump Administration, the “suck up” Republican Congress and Project 2025. You don’t have to know too much about Project 2025 to attend this rally & have some fun. But Project 2025 is a blueprint for this country that is denying you many of your constitutional rights – know that. Trump is implementing it (together with his whimsical, emotional “policies”), but Project 2025 goes far beyond Trump as figure-head. AND WE ARE GOING TO SPEAK UP!! AGAIN!!

The Rally will be at Grand Avenue & Hunt Club Road in Gurnee, on the SW corner. You’ll see A LOT of people there, so you’ll know you’re in the right place. The rally will be from 10am to Noon. INDIVISIBLE usually has their rallies start closer to Noon, but this day they are accommodating other events, so this rally is earlier than typical. The April 5th Rally was held at this same corner. It’s a “honk & wave” event, meaning that cars who feel as we do drive by honking & waving in support. And we wave back! We’ve had LOTS of cars driving by in support at the 3 rallies I attended.

This is the corner where the TGIF restaurant closed, so there is plenty of parking right there. There is also plenty of parking just behind the restaurant since it’s a shopping area. There is a Wendy’s IMMEDIATELY behind where we are protesting, so I’m picking Wendy’s to meet after the rally & grab some lunch. We can eat & talk about our experiences this day! We are not meeting AT the rally because there will be too many people to find each other, but we can convene at Wendy’s at 12:15 or 12:30pm AFTER the rally is over. (Note that the rally WILL be over by Noon-ish because Indivisible has a permit only for 10am to Noon. People then disperse.)

INDIVISIBLE & other groups picked the day of June 14th because this is Donald Trump’s birthday & he is staging a MULTI-MILLION dollar parade & extravaganza on this day in support of himself and, allegedly, the armed forces. These political groups are organizing NATION-WIDE & we expect MILLIONS of people to be rallying in their local areas on this day all over the country. The April 5th rally had 5 MILLION participate in the U.S. and there were even rallies (or protests) in Europe in support of us. We expect similar for this event. As Ed Sullivan would have said “It’s a really big shoe!!”.

DO YOU NEED A SIGN?? You do not, but you can bring a sign if you want! I will have a large, bright green sign with lettering on both sides. The THEME of these June 14th rallies is “NO KINGS” day. The revolutionary war was fought to get rid of a KING! Why do we need a self-appointed King now?? It’s NOT constitutional!! So you can make a sign indicating “NO KINGS”…or not. You WILL see some really creative signs, tho! Guaranteed!

WILL THERE BE CONFRONTATION?? We do everything to AVOID any confrontation of any kind. Indivisible is a non-partisan organization; anyone can join. They get permits for EVERYTHING they do. ALL is cleared with the police & the cities where the rallies are held. They are FULLY AGAINST any violence, vandalism & any confrontation with any opposers. WE ARE FULLY PEACEFUL PROTESTORS!!

Some of us also know that Trump would just LOVE to unleash Marshall Law if anyone gives him a reason. But we are adults & we don’t engage in lawless behavior. We also TOTALLY DISCOURAGE any interactions with people opposing us. DO NOT ENGAGE or ESCALATE if there is any tension. I didn’t see any tension at the rallies I went to, just name-calling from one woman – big deal!

SO COME JOIN US!! THERE IS NOTHING TO BE AFRAID OF as long as you are lawful. If you understand the general gist of my group, you will be around a lot of other people who are feeling like you are! I found it greatly uplifting & FUN to be around a bunch of other people who are sharing my concerns & getting up off their butts to do something about it! YOU’LL HAVE FUN!! And then we’ll have Lunch!!
