No More Heat Stroke!! Cool Down for dinner at the Golden Corral!

Once again, we are doing a purely social dinner. I have aimed to try different restaurants in the area, so we are going to try the Golden Corral in Gurnee. I have learned that they largely offer a buffet for $18 and drinks for $3, but they also have some specific dinners that you can order if you don’t want to partake in the buffet. I usually don’t prefer buffets because I have to eat more frequent, smaller meals, but let’s try this one time anyway! They seem to have a zillion different food options in the buffet itself.

I had wanted to plan getting a meal with hearing a band – to listen to or dance to. But the heat has been kicking my butt lately!! 100 degrees “real feel” is too much for me! So let’s take a slight break eating INSIDE while the outside temps cool down a bit. I will also be inviting members from my “Liberal Dating” group.

My dinners focus on everyone being introduced and on everyone getting a chance to talk AND be heard. You’ll go away knowing a little more about the people you just ate dinner with. We aim to get to know each other better & we aim to get to know our new members too! (I hope to see at least 2 new members showing up!) We can discuss basic (or even offbeat!) information about ourselves, but we can also discuss the latest idiotic, authoritarian moves of the Trump Clan that disgust or alarm us.

As I’ve underscored several times, this group is for people who are NOT Trump supporters and who lean to the more liberal or progressive. Since Trump got elected, I’ve become involved in my local “INDIVISIBLE” group that has planned some of our local rallies together with National Indivisible. I’ve been to 4 meetings & 4 rallies so far & really did enjoy being around like-minded people at these rallies. I INTEND TO DO MORE! But there is no rally I can make in the near future and I do NOT do well with high heat & high humidity. But there WILL be more rallies down the road. The Trump scourge won’t be over anytime soon, so I expect to participate more in these things down the road. I’ll try to let my members know of the events I am joining later!

But let’s take a break from the heat and have a PURELY SOCIAL DINNER! As is always the case, I have a lot of members who’ve never attended an event yet. Well, we want to meet you! Please come join us for dinner this Saturday at The Golden Corral!
