Join us for LUNCH with LEVITY at McAlister’s!

Let’s do a “lunch with levity”. I know I NEED THIS given the endless, negative political events going on these days & due to the further encroachment of the Trump Administration into our rights & lives. So let’s be light & humorous for a bit!

We’re going to meet at McAlister’s for lunch. They serve a range of sandwiches, dressed up “spuds”, salads & a few other things. There is a good selection to choose from including a vegan meal if you desire. McAlister’s has LOTs of room to accommodate whatever size of group we get for this meal & their music is not too loud! I am annoyed when the music in an eatery prevents people from hearing each other, but we won’t have that problem at McAlister’s.

We will always do introductions for any new members who join us. I ALWAYS do that so people get roughly acquainted with each other. And I’ve thought of some light-hearted questions to stir up the conversation. My “questions” are always just suggestions, but I list a few so people have some conversation ideas if they want them or if they feel shy with new people. SO HERE THEY ARE! Take your pick of what questions you might want to talk about:

What Movies or TV shows do you particularly enjoy & why?
Do you have a few actors you really like? Why? (I really like Paul Giamatti!)
Tell us briefly about any books you’ve recently read & what you enjoyed about that book.
Do you have anything coming up that you’re looking forward to?
Have you had any new accomplishments lately that you wouldn’t mind getting praise for getting done? It doesn’t matter how small these accomplishments are.
What are you thankful for? I am not religious, but I think it helps to sometimes feel thankful for things that are going right!
What kind of things do you find humorous? People have different senses of humor. And have you heard the silly “speed jokes” on 720am radio? Do you even OWN a radio? (ha ha!)
What are areas of interest for you? It doesn’t matter how geeky or how traditional these interests are.

Well – I could come up with MORE conversation ideas, but let’s just play with these for the time being. These ideas go along with our “levity” theme for this lunch. Down the road, I will post the next “NO KINGS” rally in October that is being organized in this country. They will have a rally right on the corner of Hunt Club & Grand in Gurnee. Last time ~4,500 people showed up. But that comes LATER.

And as is always the case, I have a lot of members who’ve never attended an event yet! Well, we want to meet you! Please come join us for lunch this Saturday at McAlister’s!
