Meaningful Conversations at Stoup Brewing in Ballard!

Details

Meaningful Conversations is back on Thursday's at Stoup Brewery/Ballard area for spring and summer!

About This Event: What makes a conversation meaningful? Meaningful conversation happens when we share topics and ideas of shared importance and value in an open and respectful way.

Join a group of seekers, questioners, wrestlers, and imaginers as we connect and explore topics related to philosophy, spirituality, current trends, and everyday life. Come for the laughs and insights, and stay for the community and friends.

We aim to meet every week at the same time and place (Ballard area/Stoup Brewery from 6-9pm; Alternative: Reuben's and Bale Breaker), with some familiar faces, and some new. Most weeks, we will start with an icebreaker question or activity to give people a chance to get to know one another. After that, we may break into groups, mingle, or have a large group discussion. It’s “conversational jazz” so the format is continually evolving. Expect the unexpected!

Participation: Expect the unexpected. Most events start and end with some structure, with some group discuor mingling in the middle. You are encouraged to share from your personal lives while respecting your personal boundaries and the boundaries of others. You may be encouraged or inspired to do something or try on a thought. You will not be coerced to do or share anything you don’t wish to do. We encourage respectful dialogue and curiosity/asking questions over heated “debates”, where little learning is likely to take place. Also: Active listening is participating! Finally, for new or returning members, there’s an option to join our WhatsApp group, where we share community events, parties, updates, and interesting articles and ideas.

About Your Community Facilitator/Host: Nathaniel Wildstone is a degreed instructional designer, trainer and educator who currently works with aerospace engineers. Other hosts and facilitators will periodically host and co-host this event to keep things fresh!

Legal/Disclaimer Stuff: As far as this event system goes, participation is voluntary, and you attend at your own risk. While difficult topics may be discussed at these events, this event is focused on community building and education/training. It is not group therapy, nor is your host/facilitator a licensed, clinical practitioner of counseling or psychiatry. Organizers are indemnified.
