Evans Crown Nature Reserve

Lets meet at The Tin shed Lithgow at 8am for coffee and breakfast before we drive further to Evans Crown.

Evans Crown is located 3km south East of the village of Tarana. Access is from Honeysuckle Falls Road off the Lithgow, Tarana, Sodwalls Road. There is an information board at the start of the walking track.

The reserve comprises 425 hectares with spectacular granite formations. The summit at Crown Rock is 1104 metres above sea level. Evans Crown is a nature reserve because of its outstanding geomorphology, but it also conserves a range of native fauna. As a nature reserve the plants and animals are regarded as the most important aspect.

The official trail there is not very long, but we gonna explore around little bit more to make is full day event. The rock formations look amazing.

What to bring: hiking shoes / boots, comfortable clothes. Enough food for the day, minimum of 3 l of water. Personal first aid kid.

Possibly after the Evans Crown we might drive towards Oberon one of the pine state forest for mushroom picking. Welcome to join as well!
