The age of streaming has drastically changed the way we consume entertainment (anything, anytime, anywhere). As a result, a new term emerged in our daily vocabularies: binge watching. Are we binging because we want to connect with stories on a deeper level, is it too easy to keep watching, or simply another form of addiction?
In this edition of the FilmTech Meetup, we want to invite everyone interested in how we create and consume serial content today, to explore (their) reasons for binge watching. We will kick-start this informal conversation by presenting some key findings on the way we engage with stories in the age of streaming. Participants will then be encouraged to share their views on this 21st century phenomenon with the audience and initiate a conversation with one another. We believe that at the end of the day, the best stories happen in IRL.
