Monthly Meeting: Learn How to Write a Query Letter (That Gets a Response)

Join us for the first meeting of August on Wednesday, August 7th, 2024 at 6:00 p.m.

We'll be meeting at Station House (260 1st Ave S, St. Petersburg, FL 33701).

WHAT TO EXPECT:
Here’s what you can expect at this meeting:

- Quick and fun introductions

- Even if you aren't ready to publish, knowing how to write a successful query letter is one of the most important skills a writer can learn. This is especially true if you plan on going the traditional publishing route. In this meeting, you'll learn how to write a query letter that gets a response.

- You'll write your own query letter and receive feedback from the group.

- Wrap up and reminders

THREE STRIKES POLICY
Please note: This only applies to the Wednesday evening meetings at Station House because of our limited space. This does not apply to write-ins or hangouts.

Recently, we've noticed that members are RSVPing and not showing up to meetings. This prevents others who were on the waitlist from attending, which isn't fair to those people who wanted to come.

To make sure everyone eager to attend can snag a spot, we're introducing a "Three Strikes" policy for RSVPs:

If you RSVP for an event and do not show three times, you'll immediately be placed on the waiting list for future events. If there is room for that event, you'll be moved to the "Going" category.

We hate to do this, but RSVPing and not showing while there are others on the waitlist isn't fair to those individuals or the group as a whole.

If you're running late or something comes up, we'll understand! But you need to let us know in advance. Thank you for understanding.

PARKING:
There are several nearby options for parking:

1. Street parking: There is plenty of free and paid parking on 1st Ave South, 3rd St South, and 2nd Ave South.
